40 C but felt like 50 C

This shot is for all you Canadians. I hear it has been cold and rainy. Not Here. Yesterday it was 40C but with the humidity it felt like 50C. I must be used to it because I did not realize it was so hot till someone told me today.
We walked to the beach today.Tino beach is a very popular place especially on Sunday. There is a mixture of locals and humanitarian workers on there day off. Some of the foreigners can be quite loud and rude with the way they carry on.(maybe I am getting old).
James and I found a quiet place on the beach. It is amazing how many of the local people recognize us and call us by name. Here is a pic of a couple of the guys we saw. Jgardy on the left, who is on the building crew at Haiti Arise and Johnny who we see quite a bit.On the last blog I showed the portion of the wall that was taken down, here it is put up properly. The crew laid up 600 block on saturday. A good day for them. At the end of the day some of the younger workers started to slow down and goof off till Bazou the forman got after them. You should have seen them work after he talked to them.A pic of where the container will be placed when it arrives. We will pour a footing for it this week.
A pic of a Hatian cow we saw coming back from the beach. I think it is Christof's cow. We met him on the road going to get feed for it. Thats all for today, stay tuned .  David and James

  1. Good to hear from you again. Great pic of you two with goggles. The snow is mostly gone here and we've had rain as well amost 2 inches of moisture by now I think. A few more days until the sun is supposed to shine again. Casper has gone home to M.J. with Beth. Uncle Walter says he doesn't miss him but I think he's not telling the whole truth. Good to see the progress on the wall. Did you get my e-mail about the telephone call from Zars re: help with strawbale house at Drink Water this summer???
Tomorrow is Dad's medical day in Regina.
Jim comes tomorrow night. Two more calves today. Another one coming now I think.
Preached at two congregations today, tired tonight. Going to bed soon.
    Keep blogging.
How is the garden coming I ask again?
A bomb scare in N.Y. City yesterday. Wondering if it was terrorist planned. Not much damage, caught in time. We're good here though. You are in our prayers.
    Love Mom

  2. Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your super posts. Where else can you get travel and family information and construction advice, all in one go? We love seeing the pictures of you both, and hearing your stories. Keep them coming! We've been busy at home. Brady is getting serious about his Judo training, and Will is just starting soccer, and I'm taking the plunge into aquacize for May and June. Just think of how many calories we'd burn if we were hefting bags of cement and concrete blocks!

Anyhoo, take care. We're so proud of you, and we're really looking forward to your return.

    Love Lisa, Brady and William
