Jacmel

We drove for 2 hours to see this magnificent waterfall.  It was an amazing swim.  James did some cliff jumping.  I have to admit, I couldn't watch, but I watched the video after.  We climbed in behind the waterfall and David and James climbed up the waterfall.  It was fabulous.  It was a bit of a walk but well worth it.
The drive to Jacmel (south coast of Haiti) was similar to driving through kicking horse pass except for the rock slides on the road that created only one lane and the masses of people along the way.  There were a few close calls with other vehicles but Gord did an excellent job driving.  The pictures do not do the view justice.  When we arrived at Jacmel we did not know how to get to the waterfall so we stopped to ask for direction.  A boy (about 14 years old) jumped in the van with us and came with us to give directions.  We had to go downtown Jacmel, across a river bed and up the other side of the mountain.  When they suggest you have an all-terrain vehicle, they were not kidding.  We googled Jacmel last night and the waterfall place has a website.
On the way back we passed some RaRa bands.

I wanted to buy some key limes that I had seen on the way. I was preparing to get out of the vehicle when a dozen ladies brought their produce to the van to sell. I told them tupetit citro which means small limes. They brought a bowl full over. It costs about $2.50. When we got home the ladies in the kitchen had a big bowl full of them but the experience of the ladies around the van was rather exciting and well worth the $2.50.
